I know - not the most exciting topic and you probably know this already, but I want to make sure we get this. Your restaurant's management, coworkers, and guests will judge you based on your appearance before they even consider your competence and wonderful personality.

The guests' perception of you will often determine how they treat you.
Arguably the largest determinant of your work experience will be how well you're able to deal with guests.
You're guiding guests through the experience. How will they initially feel like they're in good hands? By seeing that you have yourself in good hands.
It's best to match the vibe of your restaurant. Regardless of environment, It's always safest to err on the side of clean cut.
No matter your style, no matter your restaurant, you need to look clean.
